PRD Newcastle Takes Prestigious Title

PRD's Nationwide Newcastle team have taken the title at this year's UDIA NSW Meriton Awards for Excellence Gala Dinner.

The Urban Development Institute of Australia awarded the Civic Green Apartments Newcastle project for excellence in marketing at last night's elite event in Pyrmont, Sydney.

Civic Green is a boutique apartment complex earmarked for the heart of Newcastle's CBD, set to rise in the King Street precinct, and will offer 32 dwellings over four levels.

PRD Nationwide Newcastle and Lake Macquarie managing director Mark Kentwell said "the team are thrilled with the accolade and agrees the project's marketing strategies have been a great success."

"The Urban Development Institute of Australia is the country's premier property industry group, and we feel privileged to have received such a distinguished award," Mr Kentwell said. We have been luck to secure an incredibly talented team, with the drive, training and experience to deliver the necessary marketing success and ongoing track record. To be rewarded for all the hard work put in to this project is an honour."

Seventy percent of the distinctive boutique apartments have already sold, and strong continued interest will ensure the rapid sale of remaining units.

Senior project marketing director Luke Murdoch said the $13 million project had attracted significant pre-launch interest which had stepped up since development approval in late December.

There isn't a product available in the current market to compare it with, so potential purchasers are beginning to realise that this is an exceptional opportunity," Mr Murdoch said.

The Excellence in Marketing award recognises superior quality in project marketing development.

Each UDIA Awards for Excellence entry is considered for the company's branding, appreciation of the market, use of available budget and media allocation, customer support and the ability to meet marketing benchmarks.

Due for completion in February 2016, the development demonstrates that inner city adaptive re-use projects can result in high quality outcomes while maximising development yield.

Civic Green sees the transformation of an abandoned pool hall into an impressive mixed-use development consisting of 32 apartments.

Architect Edward Heighton of Space Design Architecture will be presenting at this month's suite sessions, on Thursday 20 August at 5pm.
