ONE of Newcastle's leading Real Estate agents has been nominated in this year's REINSW (Real Estate Institute of New South Wales) Awards which will take place on October 8 at a gala dinner in Sydney.
PRDnationwide Newcastle sales agent George Rafty is one of six and one of just two regional finalists in the running for the award, which recognises the top residential salesperson throughout NSW real estate offices.
The REINSW Awards for Excellence ceremony gives recognition to the real estate industry's top performers.
Mr Rafty said he was thrilled to be included in this year's REINSW Awards.
"These awards are very prestigious and finalists are often recognised for setting the benchmark for professional standards in their respective fields," he said.
"My colleagues and I are all very proud of the hard work we put in as a team to have PRDnationwide up there competing with the best in the industry."
Mr Rafty was named as the top regional real estate agent in Australia by the annual Real Estate Business Top 100 Agents ranking this year and was awarded PRDnationwide Top Sales Agent at the company's Annual Awards in Sydney earlier this year.
Mr Rafty said it was great to see Newcastle agents making their mark on a growing local property market.
"It's great to see Newcastle agents getting recognised for their efforts when Sydney agents are often in the limelight," he said.
"The residential market in Newcastle and Lake Macquarie is on the rise with a wave of new infrastructure and residential development cementing the region as a new residential hotspot."
"The revitalisation of the CBD is making it a more attractive and convenient place to live and that has yielded some excellent sales results across the city."
The annual REINSW awards are in their 18th year and will feature 21 categories.
PRDnationwide was founded on Queensland's Gold Coast in 1976.
The company has specialised in residential project marketing for more than three decades and is now a leading residential brand in many marketplaces across Australia, including Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Port Stephens & Hunter Valley locally.
